Real Trees
Best for the Environment!
Ever hear someone say
that cutting down a tree hurts the environment? Well, consider these facts:
- Christmas trees are grown on tree farms for a
specific agricultural purpose, like corn or carrots. The vast majority
of land planted in Christmas trees would otherwise be in pasture or annual
field crops, not forest!
- Christmas tree farms help minimize soil erosion,
protect water supplies and quality, and provide habitat for a variety of
wildlife.
- One acre of REAL Christmas trees produces the
daily oxygen requirements for 12 - 18 people.
- REAL Trees are renewable. This means the
world will never run out of them! After
Christmas, 2 to 3 seedlings are replanted for every tree harvested. (Trees
can reproduce themselves forever. This can't be said for the petroleum
required in making fake trees.)
- REAL Trees are recyclable. After the Holiday
Season, REAL trees can be chipped into mulch, used for bird feeders, brush
piles for wildlife habitat, beach & Sand dune
stabilization, and fish beds. Most fake trees eventually wind up in
landfills.
- Trees that are fresh and kept watered will not
readily support combustion.
- If you are one of the millions of people who
appreciate the natural beauty and warmth of a REAL TREE as part of a
traditionally beautiful season, be assured that using a real Christmas
tree is also being environmentally responsible.
REAL Trees are renewable
and recyclable.
